Description:
c.1933 match dispenser Bakelite 4"x12"x14". To say this piece is rare is an understatement. Very unusual piece, front has "Press" lever which, when pressed dispenses a stick match. Striker is at bottom which overlaps the counter. High Relieve Drink Coca-Cola on four sides is painted silver to give a dramatic look to this truly Art-Deco piece of art.. It seems odd calling an advertising match dispenser a piece of art, but that is exactly what this is. Just some minor rubs on silver "Free Matches," decal (in green) on front has a few flakes, a few scratches. There is a long hairline edge crack and chip line that runs from top to back. But, it certainly does not distract in anyway with the display or importance of this magnificent piece
