Description:
This unique piece could easily pre-date 1900 and it is stamped with a maker on the bottom. The letters that are visible read as "...WN MFG. CO.", and underneath that, visible are "...RUPLE PLATE". After research by John, he determined this means Crown Mfg. Co., quadruple plate. Due to the construction base being pewter, the holder is somewhat misshapen, however this in no way takes away from the historical importance and rarity of the item. The handle is likely made of another metal type and is heavily and attractively embossed. Most folks would grade this item higher due to no use being apparent. Condition: 7.7 - 8.3, Excellent. Dimensions: 3" x 2 - 1/2" x 3 - 1/2".
